More than third, almost half of the food we produce globally is wasted and goes to landfill. This is 1.3 billion tons. Every year! And still, people around the world die from hunger every day.
In the EU 100 million tons of food are wasted every year in the value of more than 150 billion €.
Forecasts are even more dramatic. In 2020 there will be 120 million tons of food wasted in the EU, in 2021 140 million tons. It is an epidemic problem which is rapidly growing.
Food waste pollutes the environment more than any other waste.
We must be aware that the destruction of food is not only unethical and, in general, unacceptable from various aspects, but it is also costly and burdensome for the environment.
Our mission is to prevent food waste with an innovative and creative solution in food management, to help the world, the environment, and the people.
We are agents of change, and for us, every problem is just another solution and another opportunity.
We did the proof of concept, now we move on.
- We have developed a digital market place for the supply and demand of food before the expiry date.
- We prevent food waste with two-sided marketplace connecting food producers, manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers with other interested companies and individuals in the food industry (grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, hotels, bars, pastry shops, pizzerias).
- There is always some mass of food that cannot be sold in normal retail channels. We have opened a new trading channel for such companies.
